Camille Saint-Saëns - Fantasie op. 124, Duo Paulina & Agata Pospieszny



Duo violin and harp Paulina & Agata Pospieszny is one of the few ensembles that kind in the field of classical music. Through the years of an intensive collaboration sisters gathered a rich and versatile repertoire, including original compositions as well as  transcriptions for that extraordinary combination of instruments.
Sisters expanded their musical horizons by studying at the renowned European Institutes of Music, specializing both in the solo and chamber music. After studying at the I.J.Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, Musikhochschule Lübeck and Hogeshool voor Wetenschap en Kunst Brussel/Lemmensinstituut Leuven they obtained with very good results and cum laude Master, Master after Master or Postgraduate Degrees of all those Institutes. They are also qualified Culture Managers.
Thanks to the cooperation with the foremost authorities of the contemporary musical world (e.g. Susann McDonald, Wanda Wiłkomirska, Isabelle Perrin, Helga Storck, Maria Egelhof, Lieve Robbroeckx, Miguel da Silva), they have collected new experiences and broaden their musical perspectives.
For their outstanding achievements both musicians, as a duo and soloists, have been awarded a numerous prizes, scholarships and distinctions, to mention only Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst, Scholarship of the Flemish Government, Competition for Duos with Harp in Cieszyn, Kulturstiftung Schleswig-Holstein or Scholarship of the Polish Harp Society.
Duo is being hosted on a regular basis by different Music Festivals, Symposiums and Concerts all over the Europe. Young musicians had an opportunity to perform for example at the Eutin Concert Summer, The Night of Clarinets in Lübeck, Harpe Diem Festival, Lyon&Healy Antwerp, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Poznań Science and Art Festival, Polish-German Harp Symposium or at the Honorary Consulate of Poland in Schleswig-Holstein, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Poland’s membership in the European Union.
As musicians of versatile interests, they collaborate eagerly with different European orchestras like: Brussels Philharmonic/Flemish Radio Orchestra, Lübeck Philharmonic Orchestra, Brunswick State Orchestra, Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra. They have performed on regular concerts and tours in Germany, Poland, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Denmark under the prominent conductors (e.g. Jan Krenz, Michel Tabachnik, Carlo Franci, Philippe Bender, Christof Prick, Per Borin, Alexander Joel, Roman Brogli-Sacher, Wojciech Michniewski, Georg Albert Albrecht, Stanisław Salwarowski , Stefan Tetzlaff).
Being members of the various musical projects sisters are frequent guests of the famous international concert halls  – Hansensaal Villa Eschenburg/Brahms Institute Lübeck, Flagey Studio Brussels, Music and Congress Hall Lübeck, Renaissance Hall of the Poznań Town Hall, Kolosseum zu Lübeck, Jagdschloss Ukleisee, Radziejowice Castle, Lübeck Town Hall - Audienzsaal, Adam Mickiewicz University Hall in Poznań, Großer Saal Musikhochschule Lübeck.
Duo has established cooperation with the leading cultural organizations, like Deutscher Verband Frau und Kultur e.V., Gemeinnützige zu Lübeck, Polish-German Social-Cultural Association Lubeka 95, Polish Harp Society. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Poland’s membership in the European Union, sisters gave a recital at the Honorary Consulate of Poland in Schleswig-Holstein. In the same year they were a significant part of the other big anniversary - by performing successfully in Kolosseum for around 500 guests of the official opening ceremony for the 225th birthday of the non-profit organisation - Gemeinnützige zu Lübeck.
In summer 2014 artists performed in Australia. At the invitation of the prominent World Harp Congress they gave a recital with a multimedia presentation in the main programme of the 12th World Harp Congress in Sydney. For their original project sisters gained recognition both from the international audience and the Artistic Committee. During the Australian journey Duo gave a couple of well-attended concerts, including the one at the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Sydney, as well as interviews for the leading Australian radio stations (e.g. SBS).
Duo Paulina & Agata Pospieszny is also taking part in different charity programs,  playing for the Amnesty International Foundation, organizing educational projects for kids or supporting elderly people. A significant and highly revered part of their activity are so called “speaking concerts”, meant to acquaint a broad audience with interesting details concerning violin and harp and the concert repertoire.
Both the violinist and the harpist build up also their individual careers and perform in different chamber music groups.
Apart from the concert activity both instrumentalists are also committed to the pedagogic and methodology of their instruments, teaching and spreading classical music among the children.
At the 10th World Harp Congress 2008 in Amsterdam Agata was having the great honour of creating a panel discussion on “Memorizing music” together with the world’s most acclaimed harpists nowadays – Susann McDonald, Carrol McLaughlin, Gabriella Dall’Olio and Lieve Robbroeckx.
